A two-bedroom house two streets from South Melbourne Beach sold at auction on Saturday for $6.85 million. Situated on 703 square metres in Albert Park, the house atA family agreed on the price with the vendor in post-auction negotiations after they were the only bidders during the auction. The auction was passed in after the sole bid was $6,622,500.
In Carlton North, a professional couple beat two other buyers for a renovated three-bedroom house at auction. They paid $2,766,000 for, which was above the reserve price set at $2.6 million. The reserve was at the top of the range starting at $2.4 million. Bidding was opened at $2.4 million by a buyer who hadn’t inspected the property. At $2.57 million, the first buyer pulled out, but a buyer’s advocate and the professional couple were left to trade bids.Currie said the vendor had chosen to stand in the crowd during the auction. At $2.6 million, Currie received a signal from the vendor to declare it on the market.In Ivanhoe East, a four-bedroom house was sold within eight minutes at auction to a young family for $2.29 million.
In Moonee Ponds, a buyer who was represented by their business partner beat four families for a four-bedroom property at auction. The buyer of the house atThere were 70 bids made during the auction from the five buyers. Small bids between $1000 and $7000 were accepted. The house had been guided from $1.8 million to $1.98 million and its reserve was within the range at $1.95 million.
