Shafiei Ismail, former director of Sri Kedawang Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd, testified in court that the company issued three checks totaling RM629,395.30 to Datuk Seri Azlan Man, the former Menteri Besar of Perlis, after he canceled family vacation bookings to London.
: Bekas Pengarah Urusan Sri Kedawang Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd mengesahkan syarikat itu telah mengeluarkan tiga cek berjumlah RM629,395.30 atas nama Datuk Seri Azlan Man selepas bekas Menteri Besar Perlis itu membatalkan tempahan percutian keluarganya ke London, United Kingdom.
“Saya tidak pasti alasan perjalanan tersebut dibatalkan, tetapi berdasarkan dokumen, ia telah dibatalkan dan terdapat tuntutan pembayaran semula yang dibuat kepada Azlan,” katanya. Shafiei: “Dia tempah tetapi tidak melakukan perjalanan, jadi wang tersebut perlu dipulangkan. Setiausaha Sulit Kanan Menteri Besar Perlis meminta supaya bayaran itu dibuat ke akaun penumpang, iaitu Azlan.”
Sementara itu, peguam Ramli Shariff yang mewakili Azlan, bertanya kepada Shafiei sama ada SUK mengenakan sebarang syarat kepada SKTT sebelum pembayaran balik percutian itu dibuat. Shafiei menjawab, “Tidak.”
