Sakinah Waheeda Abdul Manan, a 34-year-old woman recently released from prison, was sentenced to 14 months' jail after sharing her Singpass details with an individual who promised her a yearly income of S$60,000. Manan's bank account was used in a phishing scam that resulted in nearly $4.8 million being deposited. Despite suspicions about the deal, she provided her Singpass details to “Alan” on Telegram and attended a bank interview to open an account for the scheme.

Court documents did not state if Sakinah, who had been in and out of jail for drug-related and other offences, received the promised annual reward.
