China's shuttlers got off to a fast start on the first day of the badminton competition at the Paris Games on Saturday, winning each of their seven matches - but not without a couple of close calls with France and Malaysia.
KOTA KINABALU: An elderly man who was not fast enough to evade enforcement officers has been nabbed, along with seven others, at their usual cockfighting base in Tawau on Saturday .
Tawau OCPD Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin said their team raided the cockfighting base located in a palm oil plantation along Jalan Tawau-Kunak, seizing eight roosters used for the illegal gambling activity. He added that the 71-year-old man and the seven others are being investigated under Section 21 of the Animal Welfare Enactment 2015.
