AFL: Collingwood coach Craig McRae offered his thoughts on Jack Ginnivan's comments that he felt unwanted at the Pies.
Essendon took a “ massive step back” in Friday night’s shock loss to Port Adelaide , with AFL great Garry Lyon accusing players of “rolling over” in the 69-point defeat.
But instead of fighting back with the ‘Essendon edge’ the club is priding itself on this season, Lyon said the Bombers were “comprehensively belted” after quarter time.“I think Brad Scott has got a really good perspective – this would have shocked them a bit. I think they thought they were a little bit further advanced than that,” Lyon said on Fox Footy.“At one stage it looked like this was going to blow out even further which would have been a surprise to everyone at Essendon.
“This is embarrassing. This is them looking - they’ll sit down and look at this - and this is Rozee and Butters looking at you going, ‘Nup, I’m going straight through you’,” he said.“That’s the edge that’s been blunted. “Bar the last quarter, Essendon’s pressure was OK but after quarter-time they literally couldn’t lay a glove in terms of a tackle efficiency sense,” Buckley said.“I don’t think you can be a nine out of 10 all the time … when you drop off it’s got to get to a seven out of 10 and stay there as an average and not drop down to a three or four.”
