Remember the Dyson Zone headphones? It's been so long, most of us have forgotten that Jake Dyson's company actually released an audio product. Just today, the brand has revealed its second headphones, the OnTrac, which promises high-fidelity audio, active noise cancelling, long battery life, and the ability to swap certain parts with those of a different colour. No included air purifier this time around, though.
The Dyson OnTrac headphones blend premium materials with ergonomic design, with the outer caps made from aluminium, copper, nickel and ceramics, while the ear pads feature ultra-soft microfiber foam cushions. Multi-pivot gimbal arms enhance comfort by relieving pressure, and the battery has been relocated to the headband for better weight distribution.
Meanwhile, its built-in ANC is powered by eight microphones that sample external sounds 384,000 times per second, working with a custom noise-cancelling algorithm and precise internal geometry to block 40dB of noise. As for battery life, Dyson says the two onboard high-capacity lithium-ion battery cells on the OnTrac can deliver up to 55 hours of use with ANC activated. Also featured is a quick charging capability, a joystick for playback controls, and even tap-based functions.
