PETALING JAYA: A comprehensive action plan will be announced in the near future regarding the delay of candidates taking their driving tests post-Covid-19.

In a surprise visit to the Malaysian Road Transport Academy on Tuesday , the Transport Minister was briefed on the issues of the delays as well as the lack of Driving Institute Instructor Certificate instructors.

"As I announced recently, a comprehensive action plan will be announced in the near future so that these issues can be overcome in the best interests of the public," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday . Last Thursday , the Road Transport Department was instructed by Dr Wee to clear the backlog of candidates waiting to obtain driving licenses.

The MCA president said that the ministry and JPJ would conduct on-ground monitoring to listen to stakeholders and the public to solve the issue.
