MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology is looking forward to pursue the enhanced digital cooperation with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the two nations during President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s State Visit to China last January 3-5, 2023.
“We will be able to exchange knowledge, technical expertise, and best practices with China in many areas of digitalization and ICT, including on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence , 5G, cloud computing, Internet of Things, industrial Internet, big data, analytics and robotics,” said Lamentillo, who previously met with Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian, which paved the way for the crafting of the MOU.
The MOU, which was signed by DICT Secretary Ivan John E. Uy and MIIT Minister Jin Zhuanglong, also covers enhanced support to the pragmatic cooperation between Philippine and Chinese enterprises in the telecommunication industry; exchange best practices about 6G vision requirements and 5G use cases, as well as 5G and 6G technology innovation, 6G system concepts and architecture.
