Police in Penang confirmed receiving a report about multiple dead cats found in trash bags in Jelutong yesterday. The report was received from a local man aged 49 around 4:29 PM. Police were alerted to the incident through a viral video on social media showing several dead cats in black plastic bags being thrown into a large trash bin. The police report has been classified as a referral to another agency and referred to the Penang Island Veterinary Services Department (JPVPP) for further action. Meanwhile, the JPVPP Director, Dr Saira Banu Mohamed Rejab, stated that they have visited the scene to conduct preliminary investigations. Further investigations are underway to gather evidence and determine the cause of the cats' deaths.

Terdahulu, tular satu video berdurasi 29 saat memaparkan seorang individu merakam video dipercayai lebih 10 ekor kucing dalam bungkusan plastik hitam yang dibuang ke dalam tong sampah besar di tepi jalan.
