The Youth Wing of the Democratic Action Party (DAPSY) has condemned proposed guidelines that would limit the involvement of Muslims in non-Islamic religious events and gatherings held in non-Islamic places of worship.

The Youth Wing of the Democratic Action Party ( DAPSY ) has publicly voiced its opposition to proposed guidelines that would restrict the involvement of Muslims in non-Islamic religious events , gatherings, and ceremonies held in houses of worship other than Islam. DAPSY chairman, Woo Kah Leong, argues that these guidelines would inadvertently hinder mutual understanding between Muslims and non- Muslims , ultimately widening the gap between communities in Malaysia .

He asserts that since independence, Malaysia's multi-religious, multi-ethnic, and multicultural society has never experienced issues stemming from the presence and participation of any ethnic group in religious and cultural celebrations.Woo Kah Leong emphasized that DAPSY believes Malaysians, both Muslim and non-Muslim, possess the wisdom and maturity to interact harmoniously without the need for additional guidelines from any authority. He points out that elected representatives and community leaders have consistently participated in religious and cultural events of various communities, not for religious purposes, but to engage in dialogue and strengthen national unity. He strongly urges the relevant authorities to maintain the status quo and abandon the implementation of these guidelines.Woo Kah Leong believes that existing laws, protocols, and established social understanding are sufficient to maintain positive interactions between people of diverse backgrounds and religions. He argues that programs held in non-Islamic places of worship not only do not threaten the religious beliefs of any party but also demonstrate the values of harmony and togetherness within a heterogenous society. He contends that such guidelines are unnecessary and would only add bureaucratic burden to organizers who genuinely aim to cultivate cultural and unifying activities that strengthen relationships between people of different races and religions. He warns that the implementation of these guidelines would limit opportunities for individuals from different backgrounds to understand each other's cultures, ultimately distancing various communities in Malaysia.Instead, he advocates for more cultural programs that involve people of diverse backgrounds and religions to promote understanding and respect for each other's cultural differences. Through open and sincere interaction, he believes, relationships of kinship between communities can be strengthened, ensuring national harmony and unity
