Since the ban on illegal border crossings using bases in Sungai Golok came into effect on December 1st, criminal activities at the Malaysia-Thailand border have been controlled. Police Chief of Kelantan, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, stated that cross-border crime has decreased, indicating that efforts to strengthen border control and enforcement have had a positive impact. Authorities have apprehended seven individuals for illegal crossing, charged them, and sentenced them under Section 5(2) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 (Act 155).

“Setakat ini polis telah menahan tujuh individu kerana merentas secara haram, kita telah menuduh kesemua suspek dan mereka dijatuhkan hukuman mengikut Seksyen 5 Akta Imigresen 1959/1963 ,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas perhimpunan bulanan peringkat kontinjen Kelantan di sini hari ini. “Seperti sedia maklum, daerah Pasir Mas adalah antara kawasan yang popular menjadi pilihan penyeludup dan individu yang menggunakan laluan haram berbanding di Tumpat dan Jeli,” katanya.

Three Individuals Apprehended Crossing Malaysia-Thailand Border IllegallyThree individuals attempting to cross the Malaysia-Thailand border illegally via an unauthorized route in Rantau Panjang were apprehended by members of the 9th Battalion General Operations Force (PGA).
