Three Individuals Apprehended Crossing Malaysia-Thailand Border Illegally

Three individuals attempting to cross the Malaysia-Thailand border illegally via an unauthorized route in Rantau Panjang were apprehended by members of the 9th Battalion General Operations Force (PGA). The individuals were detained at 4 pm while crossing Sungai Golok in a boat from Thailand. During the raid, the boat driver attempted to flee but was apprehended. No illegal items were found on the suspects, who consisted of two passengers and a boat driver. They were detained under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and handed over to the Pasir Mas Police District for further action. The PGA stated that they will continue to intensify efforts to curb illegal border crossings.

Komander Briged Tenggara Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab. Hamid berkata, semasa serbuan itu pemandu bot telah cuba melarikan diri namun berjaya diberkas oleh anggota bertugas. “Suspek yang terlibat ditahan mengikut Akta Imigresen 1959/63 dan telah diserahkan kepada IPD Pasir Mas untuk tindakan selanjutnya,” katanya ketika dihubungi pemberita di sini hari ini.
