KUCHING: Sarawak reported 10 more recoveries and no new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Aug 5), according to the state disaster management committee.
This is the fifth day in a row with zero new cases and the state's tally of confirmed infections remains at 678.
Of the new recoveries, the committee said nine were discharged from the Sarawak General Hospital here and one from Bintulu Hospital.The committee said 42 people were being treated in hospital isolation wards, with none intubated or in intensive care. "Four new persons under investigation were reported and one case is awaiting a lab test," it said in a statement.
The committee also said 11 vehicles were ordered to turn back at the Simunjan and Sri Aman roadblocks for failing to produce police permits to travel between Zones One and Two.Inter-zone travel restrictions are in place in Sarawak from Aug 1 to 14 as part of additional measures to contain a recent surge in Covid-19 cases.
Zone One covers Kuching, Samarahan and Serian divisions while the remaining divisions from Sri Aman to Limbang are grouped into Zone Two.
