PETALING JAYA: Malaysia detected 160 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Feb 12), bringing the total number of cases in the country to 5,039,486 since the pandemic began.

The Health Ministry's KKMNow portal reported that 159 of Sunday's new Covid-19 cases were locally transmitted while there was one imported infection.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 recoveries in Malaysia to 4,993,134 since the pandemic began. KKMNow reported that 324 Covid-19 patients, or 3.4%, were seeking treatment at hospitals while nine individuals were in intensive care units nationwide.The portal also reported that Malaysia's current hospital utilisation rate stood at 73.2% while the ICU utilisation rate was at 64% as at 11.59pm Sunday.
