PUTRAJAYA: Road users are advised to strictly abide by Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) at rest and recreation (R&R) areas on highways.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said visitors at R&R areas would all be asked to record their name and phone numbers, have their temperatures taken, and practise 1m social distancing at all times.

"This weekend, we are expecting the highways to be full of vehicles due to the 'balik kampung' crowd."The food stalls, shops, surau and toilets have now reopened, so all visitors, as well as workers, must obey the SOP," he said at the daily Covid-19 press conference on Friday ."Always take the temperatures of visitors. Provide sufficient soap and hand sanitisers.

"Visitors are advised to install the MySejahtera app for their convenience in recording attendance. If they do not have the app, they must record their details manually in the logbook provided," he said. Those who pray at the R&R centre's surau must always ensure there is a distance of 1m with other individuals at all times, said Ismail Sabri.Children's playgrounds at R&R areas would remain closed for the time being, he added.
