JOHOR BARU: A total of 14 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected here among those who had a travel history to Sabah.

State health and environment committee chairman R. Vidyananthan said that to date, some 1,178 individuals had arrived from Sabah through the Senai International Airport.“The health department will continue to take preventive actions and control the spread of the disease. Screenings are still being actively conducted at all entry points and those coming from Sabah are given pink wristbands,” he said in a statement here on Monday .

“On Sunday, eight new Covid-19 cases were reported with six cases involving those who had a travel history to Sabah. He added that the two other individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday were foreigners who worked in Johor. “Meanwhile, the eighth case was of a forklift driver who was detected when the individual underwent screening to travel back to the patient’s home country,” he said, adding that the state Health Department is actively tracing close contacts of the individuals.
