JOHOR BARU: Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar will award a special “Pingat Jasa Dikenang” (Remembrance of Service) medal to Covid-19 frontliners for being actively involved in the fight against the pandemic in the state.
His Majesty said the medals together with letters of acknowledgement would be given to selected recipients of various government bodies and others working behind the scenes who were directly involved in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This is also in recognition of their outstanding contributions and great sacrifice. Even I don’t deserve this for myself. Keep up the good fight. I hope the general public will also do their best to cooperate and prevent this virus from getting worse, ” His Majesty added. The specially designed medals come in red, white and blue ribbons representing the Johor flag, with the reverse side depicting 10 hands holding each other, which is symbolic of Johor’s 10 districts.
