A young couple stranded in a crocodile-infested swamp have been rescued after writing "HELP" in the mud next to their bogged car.

Colen Nulgit and Shantelle Johnson travelled to the Keep River National Park in the Northern Territory's Top End, near the border with Western Australia, on Sunday.Colen Nulgit and Shantelle Johnson were stranded overnight in a croc-infested swamp. “These crocodiles that we get here, they're not afraid of humans, they're not afraid of anything," he said.

Luckily, Ms Johnson's mother called the police from the couple's home town of Kununurra, in the Western Australian Kimberleys region. The couple were rescued after writing "HELP" near where they were stuck, and attracting the attention of a search.
