A 19-year-old woman and her 21-year-old boyfriend have been charged with the murder of a baby girl in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson, Malaysia. The couple allegedly concealed the birth of the child, leading to her death.
A woman and her boyfriend appeared in the Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder related to the death of a baby girl in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson , on January 21. Nurul Ain Haslan, 19 years old, and Muhammad Emer Irfan Hasren, 21 years old, pleaded guilty to the charges read before Magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli. The couple is accused of jointly causing the death of the infant at a house in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson , between 5:30 am and 4:00 pm on January 21.
They were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty, a prison term of between 30 and 40 years, and at least 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction. During the court proceedings, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nadia Ezzati Mohd Zainal requested a specific date for the submission of crucial reports, including the autopsy, chemical, forensic, and DNA reports. This request highlights the need for comprehensive evidence to build a strong case against the accused. Previously, local media reported that police apprehended the couple at separate locations following suspicions of concealing a birth, which they believed led to the baby girl's death at a house in Telok Kemang, Port Dickson. Port Dickson District police chief Supt Maslan Udin stated that the police received an emergency call from Port Dickson Hospital at 11:13 am regarding a local woman who had given birth but whose baby's whereabouts were unknown.
