A Malaysian couple was arrested after police responded to a domestic dispute at their condominium. The woman involved handed over a bag containing a pistol and ammunition, leading to the arrest of both individuals. The motive behind the firearm possession is still under investigation.
A couple was arrested in Ampang Jaya, Malaysia on February 8th after police received a report of a domestic dispute . Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke to a Filipino woman who was involved in the argument with her boyfriend. The woman revealed that her boyfriend possessed a firearm and handed over a blue plastic bag containing a pistol and 30 rounds of nine-millimeter ammunition.
Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, stated that the couple was arrested to assist in the investigation. The 34-year-old woman informed police that the altercation stemmed from jealousy over her boyfriend's relationship with another woman. The motive behind the male suspect's possession of the weapon, who is also a businessman, is still under investigation. The male suspect was remanded for four days while his girlfriend was granted police bail on February 9th. The case is currently being investigated under Section 8 of the Arms Act 1960
