Cork mourns football legend.
The former footballer, born in 1950, played for Cork Hibernian, Nottingham Forrest , Walsall and Bristol Rovers in a career that spanned 17 years.The Cork man also made 11 appearances for his country in a five-year spell scoring two goals for the Republic of Ireland.
Dennehy was famously known for scoring the first hat trick in an FAI Cup Final Hibs defeated Waterford in 1972, the same team also went on to win the All-Ireland competition, the Blaxnit Cup, in the same year. Nottingham Forest signed Dennehy for £20,000 in January 1973.
