JOHOR BARU: The police have set up a task force to investigate and identify suspects involved in an incident where a minister, along with several other guests were heckled and taunted by a group of youths during a Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia event.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Kamaruddin Md Din said the incident took place between 8pm and 10pm on Friday at Ulu Tiram where Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was attending the programme.
"They had caused provocation and chaos at the scene but the police were able to control the situation before any unwanted incident took place," he said in a statement released here Saturday . "Investigation papers have been opened under Sections 153,355,357 and 506 of the Penal Code," he said.
