State police chief Comm M. Kumar said the suspects arrested during the operation held between March 5 and 19 included those involved in vehicle theft, robbery, burglary, and drug offences.
“Focus was given to checking on business premises such as workshops, shops selling vehicle spare parts, second-hand electronics, scraps, and pawn shops."Of the number, 207 are men, while 12 are women,” he said in a statement, adding that the suspects are 22 to 59 years old.
"They were also charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing injuries using weapons, Section 426 of the same Act for committing mischief, and Section 186 of the same Act for obstructing civil servants from discharging their duties,” he said.
