Muallim OCPD Superintendent Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said the tanker left the location at KM121 northbound of Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur following the incident between it and the motorcycle used by the victims at about 11.20pm on Wednesday.“We also call upon any witness to contact traffic investigating officer Insp Mazlan Salian at 017-743 3831 or the nearest police station to help with the investigations,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The victims, Mimi Nurwaheeda and Nur Nabila, both 19, from Taman Danau Kampung Hassan, Hulu Bernam and Angsana Flats, Subang Jaya, Selangor respectively, were cousins.“Initial investigations found that the victims were heading towards Slim River from Ulu Bernam. “Mimi Nurwaheeda was run over by the tanker during the incident and died on the spot, while Nur Nabila, who was riding pillion, died while being treated at Hospital Slim River,” he added.
Supt Mohd Hasni said the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving causing death.Article type: free
