Chinese researchers have made a breakthrough in robotics technology by developing a new electronic skin for robotic hands. Reportedly, it can withstand extreme cold in polar exploration called e-skin. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, this innovation promises to significantly improve the capabilities of robots operating in extreme environments. It has a tolerance that can withstand extremely cold temperatures reaching negative 78 degrees Celsius. Additionally, this makes them ideal for use on polar exploration robots allowing them to operate in extreme conditions that would normally make traditional electronics fail. In addition to its cold-resistant properties, e-skin offers enhanced dexterity for robots.

Moreover, the E-skin provides a sense of touch allowing them to feel pressure, accurately recognise the shape of objects and even certain symbols. This tactile feedback significantly improves the robot's ability to interact with its environment and complete tasks more effectively. Interestingly, the E-skin also has self-healing capabilities. Although it suffers damage in extreme cold conditions, its transmission capability can be fully restored. This ensures that the robots can continue their mission despite minor"wounds" or damage.
