Henan Mine Crane Co. Ltd. in China held a unique year-end meeting where employees could scoop up as much cash as possible from a nearly 70-meter-long table. The company laid out RMB60 million (about RM36 million) in cash for its nearly 70-meter-long table, allowing employees to collect as much as they could within a limited time. The fastest employees on each team got to keep their winnings, with one employee taking home RMB100,000 (about RM60,000) in just 15 minutes! The company’s president stated that the generous bonus was a reflection of their strong financial performance and a desire to improve the lives of their employees.
Year-end bonuses always excite employees and motivate them to perform better for the coming years, but imagine being able to decide how much you’re getting.
The rules of the game are simple. Each team was divided into a team of 30, and they would have to choose 2 employees with the fastest hand to count the money they collected, reported Dahe Fortune Cube and The Paper. “This year, the company sold more than 128,000 cranes, with a net profit of 260 million yuan . There is no pressure to pay out a year-end bonus of RMB100 million ,” said the president of Henan Mine.
