A Morton Grove family provided Chicago's official Christmas tree, which workers cut down on Friday and placed on a flatbed truck to go downtown.

Each year, Chicago harvests a local tree to be placed in Millennium Park and decorated.

The tree was so long its top hung off the back of the Long Grove-based Brightview Landscaping crew’s flatbed truck. The city will remove the stump and clean up the yard, leaving the Glisovics free to plant the tree’s successor.
