Cervical cancer is a significant health threat to Malaysian women, ranking as the fourth highest cancer among them. Despite this, a 2019 National Health and Morbidity Survey revealed that 60% of women in Malaysia have never undergone a pap smear screening. Experts cite stigma and fear surrounding the test as contributing factors to the low awareness levels. The World Cancer Campaign for Reproductive Women (WCaRe) aims to increase awareness and provide free HPV DNA tests. The article highlights the importance of early detection and encourages women to get screened.
