The logo was created by Houston Mark, who sought to capture the passion of Browns fans while also including symbols that honor the history of the Browns and the city of Cleveland.

The Browns unveiled their new logo on Monday, as voted on by fans and players, and

Mark designed the logo around a bullmastiff dog, which won the pre-contest poll about which breed best represents the Browns. He then added the hidden symbols to make it unique to the Browns. “There was a lot of stuff in there I wanted to incorporate because there’s so much history to Browns fandom in particular. It was really important for me to honor and respect the history of the fanbase, the championships and the pride that comes with being a fan.”- The highlight in the top left corner of the mighty bullmastiff’s right ear is in the shape of Ohio, where the Browns have called home for over 75 years.

The Dawg logo will join the orange helmet and Brownie the Elf logos as official logos of the franchise. It will be displayed on team merchandise as well as other team uses.
