Randy Gregory's first season with the Broncos came to an ignominious end Saturday. From ParkerJGabriel
Randy Gregory’s final 11 snaps of the season proved costly.
The veteran outside linebacker was placed on injured reserve Saturday, meaning he will not play in the Broncos’ final two games of the season. He had already been ruled out of Sunday’s game at Kansas City due to an up-and-down rehabilitation from a knee injury that cost him 10 games on injured reserve earlier in the year.
Not only is Gregory now officially out the remainder of the season, he’s also out a hefty amount of money. In addition to the $50,000 he was fined for a post-game altercation in which he and a Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman traded punches, Gregory was fined $13,261 for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty earlier in the game.Gregory, signed by general manager George Paton for five years and up to $70 million this offseason , played in just six games in his first year with the Broncos.
He had two sacks and seven quarterback hits in Denver’s first four games, but a knee injury Oct. 2 at Las Vegas required surgery and Gregory totaled just 34 snaps over two games the rest of the season.
