David Stuart Armitage, 62, was arrested in Thailand for the 2004 murder of Lamduan Seekanya. The arrest comes after a two-decade-long investigation into the mysterious death of the Thai woman in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Lamduan's family, who always suspected her husband, expressed relief and gratitude for the justice served.
After two decades, justice has finally been served for Lamduan Seekanya, a Thai woman whose mysterious death in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in 2004 remained unsolved. The long-standing case finally saw a breakthrough with the arrest of David Stuart Armitage, 62, in Thailand . Armitage, wanted for Lamduan's murder, had fled the UK and resided in Thailand for an extended period.
He was apprehended by the Immigration Bureau and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on January 23rd and will be extradited to the UK. This arrest ends a two-decade-long investigation into Lamduan's death, bringing closure to her grieving family.Lamduan's mother, 80-year-old Joomsri, never gave up hope that her daughter's killer would be brought to justice. Though she couldn't do anything to help her daughter while she was alive, she always suspected her son-in-law, David, of being responsible. Lamduan had confided in her mother about David's physical abuse before her untimely demise. Joomsri shared that Lamduan was a naive person who never engaged in conflicts with others. She described a lingering sense of unease when her daughter moved to England with David, as if something was amiss. Joomsri expressed immense gratitude to the police for finally bringing her daughter's killer to justice. She wished for her daughter's soul to rest in peace and hoped that in her next life, she wouldn't be burdened by the hardships of being human. The case started as a cold mystery, known as the 'Lady of the Hills' by local residents. Lamduan's body was found half-naked, face down, barefoot, and wearing a wedding ring. The lack of identification initially hindered the investigation. However, a decade later, a new investigative team re-examined the case, theorizing that she might have been a 'Thai-bride type' who had relocated to the UK. The police analyzed tissue samples and bones from Lamduan's remains, revealing her South-East Asian origins and pinpointing her potential location in the UK. They collaborated with Thai authorities, who eventually identified Lamduan through a publicized case. DNA samples from Lamduan's relatives confirmed her identity, bringing closure to a long-standing mystery and delivering justice to her family
