Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State acknowledges President Bola Tinubu's authority to pass the tax reform bill despite resistance from various Northern Nigerian groups, including the Northern Governors Forum and Northern Elders Forum.
Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, says he acknowledges the fact President Bola Tinubu has the power to ensure the tax reform bill is passed even amid the controversies it is being generated. The bill, which has passed the second reading at the Senate, is facing stiff resistance from different quarters, especially from elites in Northern Nigeria .
recalls that last week, Zulum, said the tax reform bills will cause backwardness in the North and Nigeria in general. Zulum in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, said: 'We know the power of the president. I’m a system man; I respect him. 'If the president wants to use his power to pass the tax bill, he may have his way, but it has its consequences for the people.
