BNM: Ringgit up 1.4pc against US dollar in 1Q 2019
Non-resident portfolio inflows of RM13.5 billion helped the ringgit to rise 1.4 per cent against the US dollar in the first quarter of 2019. — Reuters pic
However, the central bank said from April to May 15, the ringgit depreciated by 2.2 per cent against the US dollar, in line with most regional currencies. Moving forward, the central bank said headline inflation was expected to average between 0.7 and 1.7 per cent this year.
