The Chinese Communist Party has accused the United States of “ignoring and twisting history” when it comes to Taiwan, as it issues a dire warning.

“Taiwan is an inalienable part of China,” Mao Ning said during her regular press conference.

“I need to stress again that the US has been deliberately ignoring and twisting the history and sending the wrong message on the Taiwan question.” In October President Xi told the Chinese Communist Party’s National Congress that China will “never promise to renounce the use of force” to reunify Taiwan.

Ms Mao went on to reiterate that Taiwan is “purely” China’s internal affair, and that it is at the very core of China’s interests.“We have a clear message for the US: It is time to stop - stop walking on the edge, stop using the salami tactics, stop pushing the envelope, and stop sowing confusion and trying to mislead the world on Taiwan.
