“Mother started panicking as it was unusual for her to switch her phone off during the day,” a GoFundMe page by the Maritime Sikh Society revealed.“Imagine the horror that her mother experienced who herself opened the oven, when someone pointed out to it,” the page read. In just two days, the online fundraiser has raised over C$140,000 , surpassing its initial goal within 10 hours.
Walmart has temporarily closed the store while cooperating with the ongoing investigation and has provided counselling services for employees.
