With over 1.15 million Muslim residents in Canada, the demand for halal products is on the rise
: Malaysia sees prospects to introduce cooperation with Canada in the halal sector, said Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
Tengku Zafrul noted that the Canadian halal market, valued at C$1 billion , offers significant potential for Malaysian producers, particularly in food and beverage products. Tengku Zafrul was also present during the meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Canadian counterpart, Justin Trudeau, on the margins of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in Laos yesterday.Malaysia to expand recognition of JAKIM’s halal certification through halal diplomacy - Ahmad ZahidEconomic cooperation between Malaysia and Canada is increasingly robust, with total bilateral trade reaching RM8.
