Malaysia Football Congress Rife with Controversy Ahead of ElectionsThe upcoming Malaysian Football Association (FAM) Congress on February 15th is marred by controversy surrounding blank nomination forms allegedly bearing official seals. The issue has been raised since the forms were distributed on December 24th, with the Malaysia Chinese Football Association (MCFA) and Negeri Sembilan Football Association (PBNS) lodging formal complaints with the FAM Election Committee. The situation escalated, with reports of an international lawyer who previously served FIFA preparing to take FAM to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). A 10-page affidavit, accompanied by evidence, alleges that a FA secretary committed irregularities when submitting nomination forms to the FAM Election Committee. Notably, one form was submitted blank for all contesting positions, yet it bore the FA seal and the secretary's signature. The lawyer claims this unauthorized act will be challenged, arguing that FAM's decision to consider the flawed forms valid contradicts their own statutes. MCFA and PBNS previously requested the cancellation of the submitted forms and new ones to be issued. However, the FAM Election Committee rejected their plea, stating the forms were complete and met the requirements outlined in Article 10 of the FAM Election Code. The election results, including the potential uncontested wins for Datuk Mohd. Joehari Mohd Ayob (President), Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi, and Datuk S Sivasundaram (Deputy Presidents), will be revealed today after the nomination period ended yesterday.
