She said Mr Curran had a stroke 10 years ago, had regular blood testing, a skin cancer, high blood pressure and leukaemia "for which he has oral chemo". Magistrate Ian Rodgers recognised the delays in hearing sexual assault matters in his reasons for granting bail. But the police prosecutor said there could be more witness evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation, which would also include analysis of computers.Magistrate Rodgers told the court the allegations against Mr Curran were about "as serious as it gets", but he was "not determining guilt today".
