A gunman has been shot dead in Victoria’s north after a three-day police pursuit across two states.
“The tactical officers were acting on information Turvey was at the address,” the police statement said. Police had visited the property following reports a man armed with a firearm had assaulted a woman and stolen a white Toyota HiLux from Yarrawonga that morning.Turvey allegedly approached the officers and fired a gun into the air, before fleeing from the property in the allegedly stolen vehicle.
