The Higher Education Ministry announces the opening of applications for the 2025/2026 academic session at public institutions of higher learning across Malaysia.
Applications for enrollment in public institutions of higher learning for the 2025/2026 academic session, via UPUOnline, for foundation, certificate, diploma, and degree programs, will open from Monday (Feb 10) until March 14 for the first phase of application and from April 14 to May 18 for phase two.
The Higher Education Ministry, in a statement on Friday (Feb 7), said applications are open for admission to 20 public universities, 36 polytechnics, 106 community colleges, and two institutions from the Mara higher education division (Mara BPK). Applications are open for holders of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), or those with equivalent qualifications, for all academic programs for the first phase of the application, while only programs without interviews and/or tests are open for phase two. \'All qualified candidates are invited to seize this opportunity to pursue higher education,' the statement read. A total of 350 study programs are offered to SPM graduates, and 1,131 study programs are offered to STPM/equivalent graduates by public universities, polytechnics, community colleges, and MARA BPK nationwide. \In the same statement, the Higher Education Ministry said the purchase of the UPUOnline PIN number could be made through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) at 350 BSN branch counters, 700 BSN Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), and myBSN Internet Banking starting Feb 9 before submitting an application. “Applicants are also requested to ensure that the payment slip is kept for reference as proof of a valid purchase', the statement read.
