Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim plans to contact Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to accelerate the reconstruction plan for Gaza following a recent visit to Malaysia. The announcement comes after a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, scheduled to take effect on Sunday. Anwar emphasizes the importance of cooperation and support from East Asian partners to ensure a swift and effective reconstruction process. He acknowledges the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States in mediating the ceasefire and commends President-elect Donald Trump for his role in bringing negotiations to fruition.
PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berkata, beliau akan menghubungi Perdana Menteri Jepun, Shigeru Ishiba untuk mempercepatkan rancangan pembinaan semula Palestin yang dipersetujui semasa lawatannya baru-baru ini ke Malaysia.
Beliau berkata, langkah kritikal ini memberikan kelegaan yang sangat diperlukan untuk penduduk Gaza, yang telah menanggung penderitaan yang begitu besar. “Masyarakat antarabangsa mesti memastikan bahawa ia ditegakkan, membuka jalan untuk perbincangan mengenai fasa seterusnya yang akan membawa kepada ketenangan mampan dan pembinaan semula Gaza,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.
Pada masa sama, beliau memuji Presiden terpilih AS, Donald Trump atas peranannya dalam membawa rundingan itu membuahkan hasil.
