BREAKING UPDATE: Officials identify woman killed following domestic violence incident at Sugar Land home as 29-year-old Alief ISD teacher.
– An investigation is underway after a woman identified as an Alief ISD teacher was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at her home in Sugar Land, police said.
Officers with Sugar Land Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Oxford Mills Drive near New Territory Drive at around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire from neighbors. When they arrived, police said they found the woman, identified as 29-year-old Wendy Duan, in the backyard. Paramedics arrived at the home and pronounced her dead.A possible suspect was identified by investigators, but his identity was not released at this time as he possibly fled the scene.Officers are still investigating what led to the shooting.
Alief ISD officials confirmed to KPRC 2′s Rilwan Balogun that she was a staff member. They said in a statement that they are “deeply saddened to hear of her tragic passing.” They also confirmed that she worked as an assistant teacher since 2017.A graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown, Ana moved to H-Town from sunny southern California in 2015. In 2020, she joined the KPRC 2 digital team as an intern. Ana is a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, a catmom of 2, and an aquarium enthusiast.
