Local leaders say an alcohol ban - a decision on which has been delayed by up to a week - would not be enough to fix the social problems plaguing the Northern Territory.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and NT Chief Minister Natasha Fyles met to discuss reinstating the ban on Thursday.
