After being reprimanded for their delay in assessing McKay for a head knock last week, the AFL will ensure Carlton followed protocols before declaring him a late out against Port Adelaide.
The AFL will make inquiries with Carlton about the management of Harry McKay last week after the star forward’s late withdrawal from the game against Port Adelaide.
He trained during the week and was named for the clash with Port but was a late withdrawal because of illness, replaced in the side by Lewis Young.“ had a great week,” he said. “He trained, got through all the training sessions, got through everything.“So no, he was ill and got crook and couldn’t play.”
Carlton have lost three of their past four matches, with their midfield lacking the spark they had early in the season. “I don’t think that just because Patrick Cripps is in good form that that should count against the others,” he said.
