The outcome of the investigation to get rid of the senior police officials with drug links would result in a better police force, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr. said. ManilaBulletin
He said the assessment and evaluation conducted by the Five-Man Advisory Group also put an end to the speculations and other accusations being hurled at the PNP in connection with its aggressive campaign against illegal drugs.
“And whatever will be the result, we will welcome it and it's all part, a bitter truth but it's all part of internal cleansing and I do believe after all these things, we will come up with a better police force,” he added. Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos said the cases against the senior police officials are now being prepared and the move is to ensure that they will not also get any benefit from the government and likewise be perpetually barred from holding any government post in the future.
