If healthy, Montas figures to be one of the most sought-after pitchers heading toward the trade deadline.
A’s manager Mark Kotsay provided medical updates ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays but the results of Frankie Montas’ MRI was not one of them.
With the trade deadline on Aug. 2, Montas is more than likely to be added to list of core players the A’s have traded away this year. A negative test would decrease the value of what the A’s can expect in return. Montas has one year left of arbitration after this season.
