A quarter million employers apply to Socso for wage subsidy
The government has come up with a raft of aid measures to help Malaysians weather the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak, including a wage subsidy programme for employers. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 1, 2020.
SOCIAL Security Organisation has received nearly a quarter million applications from employers with a total 1.98 million workers for the wage subsidy programme since April 1. Socso chief executive officer Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said in a statement yesterday that most of the 248,216 applications were from micro and small business owners.
