Almost 400 Johor firms sought to cut wages, retrench staff

A TOTAL of 398 employers in Johor have so far applied to retrench or cut the wages of their 15,597 workers during the movement control order. State Health and Environment Committee chairman R. Vidyananthan said 1,443 workers have been laid off, 180 resigned, 2,864 were furloughed and 11,110 accepted pay cuts.
