55 new arrests in Johor on April 6 for breaching MCO

JOHOR BARU: A total of 974 people have been arrested in Johor for defying the movement control order (MCO) from last March 18 until Monday (April 6).

State police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said that number includes 55 new arrests that were made on Monday. Those picked-up were between 23 and 54 years old.Comm Ayob urged the public to cooperate with the authorities and abide by the MCO to avoid the spread of Covid-19.

“Police are hoping to see greater public cooperation," he said, warning that stricter action would be taken against those disobeying phase two of the MCO. Comm Ayob urged those with enquiries and information to contact the state police hotline at 07-2212999 or the nearest police stations.
