Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow says the third twin submarine pipeline project will supply water to 500,000 consumers in the southern part of the island.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the RM114.3 million project connecting the Sungai Dua water treatment plant in Seberang Perai and the Bukit Dumbar pumping station on the island would deliver up to 315 million litres of treated water daily, equivalent to 126 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Chow said the new pipelines would also back up those laid out under the first project, which were commissioned in 1973 and almost reached their end of life.
